3.4 Interval House
The Lanark County Interval House is a free service that provides safe shelter for abused women and their children.
The service is available to women of any age, colour, religion or sexual orientation who are undergoing emotional,
physical, sexual or financial abuse. The staff and volunteers of the Lanark County Interval House can:
- help in an emergency
- give you a safe place to stay
- help you get to the shelter
- provide counseling and support
- refer you to other helping agencies
- provide support for your children
- listen to and believe you
- provide the things you need (such as food and clothing)
- go with you to court
The Interval House also holds support groups where women from the community who have the same experiences as you meet
every week to support each other and learn how to take control of their lives. For support groups (including a special
group for women over 50), call 613-253-3336 (collect).
