    6 Going to Court

    In most circumstances, you are permitted to attend the trial of the person charged with harming you. In some cases, you may be asked to testify as a witness at the offender's trial. If you have questions or anxieties about attending court, here are some suggestions:
    • Look through the Victims Guide to the Criminal Justice System.
    • Call the police officer investigating your case.
    • If you are a victim of sexual or domestic assault, contact the Sexual Assault Crisis and Support Center. The staff may be able to assist you with your fears, or accompany you to the court house.
