Male arrested for breaching release conditions
On Sunday March 6, 2022, at approximately 8:42 a.m., police responded to a Parkland Court residence for a male suspect breaching his release conditions stemming from a previous Intimate Partner Violence related offence.

Police attended and located a 21-year-old male suspect, of Smiths Falls, inside the residence. Investigation revealed that the suspect was in fact breaching his court ordered release conditions by being at the residence and communicating with a female resident inside.

The suspect was held for a bail hearing and stands charged with the following: Failing to comply with his court ordered release order x2.

Female arrested for domestic related offences
On Monday March 7, 2022, at approximately 10:21 p.m., police located and arrested a 44-year-old female suspect, of Smiths Falls, for an outstanding warrant for her arrest. The warrant stems from a January 2022, Intimate Partner Violence related incident, in where the suspect used a weapon and assaulted her male partner during an intense argument. The suspect also uttered threats to cause death to the victim and several family members.

The suspect was held for a bail hearing and stands charged with the following: Assault with a Weapon and Utter threats to cause death x2.

Males suspect arrested for theft of motor vehicle and drug related offences
On Thursday March 10, 2022, at approximately 3:25 a.m., police responded to an auto dealership on Lombard Street for a report of two suspicious males on the property. Investigation revealed that, 31-year-old, Ahmad NAZIM and 27-year-old, Kyle RICHARDS, both of Ottawa, were attempting to steal a vehicle off the lot and that they had attended the scene in a stolen vehicle from the same dealership stemming from a January auto theft.

Both NAZIM and RICHARDS were both placed under arrest, searched and found to have a controlled substance on their persons.

NAZIM and RICHARDS were both held for a bail hearing and are charged jointly with the following: Theft of a motor vehicle, Attempted theft of motor vehicle, Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.00 and both also face possession of a Schedule 1 drug.

Male arrested for fraud and theft related offences
On Thursday March 10, 2022, at approximately 8:40 p.m., police located and arrested 34-year-old male suspect, Thierry MUANA MANTUNGI, of Windsor, Ontario, for an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The warrant stems from a January 2022 incident, in where the suspect used fraudulent identification to purchase a vehicle at a Lombard Street auto dealership.

As a result, the suspect was held for a bail hearing and stands charged with the following: Possess identity documents x2, Identity Fraud, Identity Theft, Uttering Forged Passport, Fraud over $5000.00, Motor Vehicle Theft and Fail to comply with undertaking release condition.

Male arrested for Intimate Partner Violence
On Thursday March 10, 2022, at approximately 7:22 p.m., police received a call to attend a Bourke Street address for a report of a possible domestic disturbance in progress. Investigation revealed that a 46-year-old male suspect, of Smiths Falls, had assaulted his female partner inside the residence.

The suspect was placed under arrest, held for a bail hearing and stands charged with one count of assault.

Male arrested for Intimate Partner related offences
On Friday March 11, 2022, at approximately 11:39 a.m., police received a call to attend the area of Old Sly’s Road for a report of a male suspect breaching his court ordered release conditions, stemming from previous Intimate Partner Violence offences. Investigation revealed that a 27-year-old male suspect, of Smiths Falls, had breached his release order conditions by being within a specified distance of the victim.

Police located and arrested the suspect a short time later. The suspect is charged with the following: Breach of Probation Order x2, Breach of Release Order x2 and Criminal Harassment.

The suspect was held for a bail hearing to answer to these charges.

Male arrested for shoplifting and breaches
On Sunday March 13, 2022, at approximately 7:00 p.m., police located and arrested a 27-year-old male suspect, of Smiths Falls for a shoplifting related offence that occurred on March 8th at a Beckwith Street business. Investigation revealed that the suspect had entered the business, selected several items, concealed them in a bag and attempted to exit without paying for the products.

As a result, the suspect was held for a bail hearing and stands charged with the following offences: Theft Under $5000 and two counts of Breaching his Probation Release Order conditions.

The charges in these matters have not been proven in court
