Male arrested for breaching release condition
On Monday September 13, 2021, a 44 year old male suspect, of Smiths Falls, turned himself into police for an outstanding breach of his court imposed release condition, stemming from a domestic related incident. While in custody, the suspect tampered with the fire suppression system in cells, causing damage and flooding to the cell block area.
As a result, the suspect stands charged with one count of breaching his court release condition and one count of mischief under $5000.00. The suspect was held for a bail hearing to answer to these charges.
Suspicious persons call leads to numerous charges
On Sunday September 19, 2021 at approximately 2:39 a.m., police received a 9-1-1 call to attend a residence on Bourke Street for a report of two males attempting to gain entry into parked vehicles. Police attended and located one male youth and one male adult in the immediate area. Both were advised of the complaint and reason for police interaction. Both males provided false names, dates of birth and addresses when asked. Both suspects were subsequently placed under arrest and were found to have break in tools on their person.
As a result both stand charged with: Prowl By Night, Obstruct Police, Possession of Break in Tools and were later released by way of a Promise to Appear with a future court date to answer to these charges.
