Couple arrested for theft after posting stolen jewelry to sell online

Smiths Falls Police commenced an investigation after noticing packaged jewelry being sold on local facebook buy and sell and swap shop sites that appeared to be stolen. Police then located the business where it came from and determined they were in fact stolen. Police then located the parties involved and recovered a large portion of the stolen merchandise.

Charged jointly with possession of property obtained by crime, theft under $5,000 and trafficking in stolen goods are Bradley Jinkinson age 40 and 33 year old Robyn Jinkinson- both of Smiths Falls. They were released to appear in court at a later date.

Some helpful tips when buying on these buy and sell sites:

-Is there a large amount of the same product that a person has that seems suspicious?

-Do they have positive reviews/reputation on these local selling sites?

-Is it too good to be true for the value of the product verses what they are selling?

– has the person “lost all receipts” for numerous tagged items?

***The charges in these matters have not been proven in court***
