Arrest leads to further drug charges;
On the 29th of November 2021 police responded to a call at 24 Bourke St. Upon arrival, police arrested a 53 year old male wanted on a warrant out of Quebec. On his possession was what police determined to be crack/cocaine. He was charged with possession CDSA. He will appear in court at a later date.
Aggravated assault charges laid in domestic
On the 30th of November 2021 police responded to a serious domestic assault incident on Main St. A 40 year old male is charged with aggravated assault, breach of a release order and being unlawfully in a dwelling. He was held in custody for a later court appearance.
Motor vehicle collision leads to charges
On the 30th of November 2021 police responded to a 2 person motor vehicle collision- no injuries where the one vehicle fled the scene. Police located the vehicle on Highway 15 and determined the female driver of Carleton Place was a prohibited driver and on outstanding court imposed conditions not to drive. Upon arrest, she further was in possession with what police believed to be cocaine. She was charged with possession CDSA, fail to remain at the scene of an accident, breach of a release order and later released after a bail hearing.
Lock it or Lose it
Police are reminding the public especially during the holiday season to lock your vehicles at all times, take valuable items inside, especially the car keys and don’t leave packages in plain view of the vehicle. Report suspicious people immediately to this service.
